Daughters of the American Revolution

Psi U Scholarship Grant Program Due September 19th This scholarship is for senior males planning on attending University of Illinois. It is given to the applicant with the highest moral, intellectual, and social excellence. Applications are available online at www.illinipsiu.com
You Deserve It Scholarship
Due September 29th

Wendy’s High School Heinsman Scholarship
Due October 3rd

Horatio Alger Association Scholarship

This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to 25 students in Illinois coming from low income homes. You must be enrolled full-time, going to a 2 or 4 yr college, have a family gross income of 50,000 or less, be involved in extra-curricular activities, and have at least a 2.0 GPA. Prudential Spirit of Community Scholarship

Students involved in hours of volunteer work may be eligible for this award. The scholarships are worth $1,000. Stokes Educational Scholarship Program

IEA-NEA Scholarship

Kaskaskia College Cultural Awareness Scholarship

Student must develop a project based on another country or culture and present it at the Celebrate Diversity Fair in February. Two 1,000 dollar scholarships will be given.
CrossLites Scholarship

SICHE Engineering Scholarships

The Southern Illinois Healthcare Engineering Program is offering scholarships up to $1,000 for students entering the field of engineering, architecture, biomedical technology, building operations, and maintenance. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Illinois State University Dept. of Agriculture Scholarship
Due January 7th
Student must have a 24 on the ACT and a 2.75 GPA. Students must declare agriculture as major in the crop and soil sciences sequence. Applications are available online at www.agriculture.illinoisstate.edu/opportunities/scholarships/.
Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Due January 9th
Varied monetary scholarships are awarded to a total of 500 seniors nationwide. Judging criteria is based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. For more details visit www.elks.org.
Elks National Foundation Eagle Scout Scholarship
Due January 9th
Varied monetary scholarships are awarded to registered Eagle Scouts with an ACT score of 26 or above, and financial need. For more details visit www.elks.org.
Burger King Scholars Program
Due January 10th
$1,000 scholarships awarded to high school seniors working at least 15 hours a week for 40 weeks. Students must also have at least a 2.5 GPA. Students can apply online at http://www.haveityourwayfoundation.org/ and do not have to be employed at Burger King.
Gates Millennium Scholars
Due January 11th
This scholars program is aimed at increasing minority enrollment in undergraduate and graduate degree programs. This program is available to any African American, Hispanic American, American Indian or Alaskan Native, and Asian Pacific Islander American entering freshman with at least a 3.3 GPA attending and enrolling in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. McKelvey Foundation Scholarship
Due January 25th
This $10,000 scholarship is awarded to any student that has owned and operated their own business, and has at least one paid employee. Students must also attend a 4 year college in the United States. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Eastern Illinois University Presidential Scholar
Due January 30th
8 semesters worth of tuition paid for (15 credits per semester). Must have 28 on the ACT, and top 5% of class or 3.75 GPA. Applications can be picked up in student services.

This is a $500-$1,000 scholarship for seniors that are in the top 25% of their class. Students must be entering a program to acquire a degree in education or education-related field. This would include librarians, instructional media specialists, school nurses, school psychologists, or social workers (all of which require certification from a State Board of Education). American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships
Due March 1st
1. The Department of Illinois Children and Youth Scholarship is $1000 for students working toward a degree in Education with emphasis on subjects required for teaching Special Education.
2. The ADA Mucklestone Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who has had a father, grandfather, or great grandfather who is a veteran that served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and the present. It is for $1000.
3. The Illinois Scholarship for Junior Members is awarded to a daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, or sisters of a veteran. Those pursuing a nursing career are not eligible. It is for $1000.
4. The Mildred R. Knoles Scholarship is for veterans, children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren of veterans who served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and now. This applicant must be a resident of Illinois or a member in good standing of the American Legion Family. It is for $1000.
5. The Children of Warriors National President’s Scholarship is awarded to daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great granddaughters, or great grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and now. It is awarded to a high school senior. There are 3 divisions: $3500, $3000, and $2500.
6. The Spirit of Youth Scholarship is for junior members who have been an ALA member for 3 consecutive years and holds a 2016 membership. It is awarded to a high school senior. It is for $5000.
7. The American Legion Auxiliary Non Traditional Scholarship is for students who are returning to the classroom after his/her formal education was interrupted or beginning later in life. It is for $2000.
8. The Presidents’ Parley Nurses Scholarship is for a high school senior or who has graduated from an accredited school and is enrolled in a hospital program. It is for $1000.
9. The Edna Mae Unfer Scholarship is for an applicant who is 30 years of age or older seeking a career in nursing and has been accepted into a nursing program or enrolled in classes for the nursing program. It is for $1000.

U of I Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver
Due March 1st

Phi Beta Kappa Young Scholar Award

This scholarship is for Juniors and is worth $100. Students must submit a 500 word essay written on one of three provided topics.
Jameson Lockart Advancement Fund

The main goal of this scholarship is to financially help individuals obtain GED’s, Union Cards, or other types of career advancements that would aid struggling individuals to reach their full potential. Applications can be found in student services.

Illinois Elks Children’s Care Program

Rend Lake College Foundation
Due March 12th
Any senior planning on attending Rend Lake College and majoring in agriculture should apply for this scholarship. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Academy of Hair Design Cosmetology School Scholarship
Due March 13th

Illinois Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship
Due March 14th
$500 awarded to student who wishes to pursue higher education at an Illinois institution of higher learning. Applications are available at local sheriff’s offices or the internet @ www.ilsheriff.org. Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Academic Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is awarded to a student entering the field of education. Must have a 2.0 GPA, and be a student of good character. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Kohl’s Kids Scholarship Program

Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Scholarship

South Central FS Scholarship

This scholarship is for any senior going into an agricultural related field. You may pick up an application in student services.
DCFS Scholarship
Due March 31st
This scholarship covers all tuition for college at an Illinois state school. Student must be at least 16 years old and under 21 years of age on the deadline of March 31st. Student must obtain a diploma or GED. The Department must have court-ordered legal guardianship for the applicant or the Department must have legal guardianship for the applicant prior to the adoption being finalized, or the applicant must be in the Subsidized Guardianship of KinGap Program. Heneghan and Associates Scholarship
Due March 31st
This $500 one time scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors are enrolled, or in the process of enrolling in one of the following higher-education programs: Engineering, Surveying, or Mathematics. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Tamara Gail Vosholler Memorial Scholarship
Due April 1st
This scholarship is a non-renewable award for graduating seniors with a B average or above. Applicants must have excelled in social grace towards faculty and students and must be enrolled in a college, university, or technical school. Preference will be given to those students with a demonstrated financial need and must excel in enthusiasm, positive personality, cooperative attitude, and morals. Bishop Mutual Scholarship

Four $250 scholarships will be awarded. This scholarship is for a policy holder, child or grandchild of a policy holder and must not be a former winner of a Bishop Mutual scholarship. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Douglas R. Rames Memorial Character Award
Due April 1st
This scholarship of $1000 is awarded to a senior with outstanding character and leadership qualities. The applicant must have a 2.0 GPA. Applications are available online at www.thefnb.com.
Charles A. Evans Scholarship
Due April 1st
This scholarship is available for any senior graduated from Vandalia High School, living within ten miles of the city of Vandalia, displays exceptional scholastic ability, and has genuine financial needs. Applications are available online at www.thefnb.com.
Edward W. Mills Scholarship

This scholarship is a non-renewable $1000 awarded to a graduating senior from Fayette County schools with demonstrated scholastic ability and who are enrolling in a university, college, or junior college. Ella McKee Foundation Student Loan through First National Bank

Applications are available at the bank or a school counselor. A student must have been a resident of Fayette County for the past four years and demonstrate financial need. These are interest-free loans.
VFW Post 3862 Scholarship

Vandalia Unit Teachers’ Association Scholarship

Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Scholarship

Vernon Drenckpohl “Best All-Around Athlete” Award

Awards will be given to one senior male and female athlete. Must have participated in three sports each year at VHS and must have been a varsity player in three sports during their junior and senior years. Award is based on citizenship, sportsmanship, attitude, and moral standards considered by coaches to be outstanding. Recipients must earn commendable scholastic marks. No award will be made if no applicant meets the required criteria. Applications can be picked up in student services.
AITCOY Scholarship

C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporations’s CSBG Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to low income and disadvantaged persons. Scholarships go toward providing formal education or occupational training in an accredited Illinois educational institution to CSBG eligible clients. This is a competitive scholarship based on merit, not solely on financial need. Applications can be picked up in student services.

Sara Elizabeth Stubblefield Scholarship

This scholarship is a 1 year $2,000 award, and will be given to a deserving student who meets the following criteria: has epilepsy and is under physician’s care for epilepsy, is a college-bound or a vocational technical school bound high school senior residing in Illinois, previous recipients currently enrolled and in good academic standing in an institution of higher education may also re-apply.
Mizzou Men of Achievment Scholarship Program

Pointe Pest Control Scholarship

This $750 one time scholarship will be awarded to any high school senior or college freshman from the state of Illinois. This scholarship is judged primarily on a need basis, but does not exclude achievement standards.
