Daughters of the American Revolution

Wendy’s High School Heinsman Scholarship

This scholarship is available to seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher and must participate in one school-sponsored sport. The first 41,000 students to register will win a Wendy’s gift card in amounts from $5 to %50. Any student may register online at

The Lead Roster B2B Sales & Marketing Scholarship is a highly competitive award for high school and college students interested in sales & marketing.  Unlike most scholarships which require a simple essay and "good luck" to win, the Lead Roster scholarship puts the tools for winning in your hands by judging your entry on your ability to market and sell your own ideas!  Students applying must submit the URL of a video they've uploaded to YouTube where you explain, present, convince, inspire, entertain, market and/or sell us your reason why you deserve to win this scholarship. American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships

1. The Department of Illinois Children and Youth Scholarship is $1000 for students working toward a degree in Education with emphasis on subjects required for teaching Special Education.
2. The ADA Mucklestone Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who has had a father, grandfather, or great grandfather who is a veteran that served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and the present. It is for $1000.
3. The Illinois Scholarship for Junior Members is awarded to a daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, or sisters of a veteran. Those pursuing a nursing career are not eligible. It is for $1000.
4. The Mildred R. Knoles Scholarship is for veterans, children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren of veterans who served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and now. This applicant must be a resident of Illinois or a member in good standing of the American Legion Family. It is for $1000.
5. The Children of Warriors National President’s Scholarship is awarded to daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great granddaughters, or great grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and now. It is awarded to a high school senior. There are 3 divisions: $3500, $3000, and $2500.
6. The Spirit of Youth Scholarship is for junior members who have been an ALA member for 3 consecutive years and holds a 2016 membership. It is awarded to a high school senior. It is for $5000.
7. The American Legion Auxiliary Non Traditional Scholarship is for students who are returning to the classroom after his/her formal education was interrupted or beginning later in life. It is for $2000.
8. The Presidents’ Parley Nurses Scholarship is for a high school senior or who has graduated from an accredited school and is enrolled in a hospital program. It is for $1000.
9. The Edna Mae Unfer Scholarship is for an applicant who is 30 years of age or older seeking a career in nursing and has been accepted into a nursing program or enrolled in classes for the nursing program. It is for $1000.

Vernon Drenckpohl “Best All-Around Athlete” Award

Awards will be given to one senior male and female athlete. Must have participated in three sports each year at VHS and must have been a varsity player in three sports during their junior and senior years. Award is based on citizenship, sportsmanship, attitude, and moral standards considered by coaches to be outstanding. Recipients must earn commendable scholastic marks. C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporations’s CSBG Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to low income and disadvantaged persons. Scholarships go toward providing formal education or occupational training in an accredited Illinois educational institution to CSBG eligible clients. Effingham Area Home Builders Association Scholarship

Award is given to an Effingham area graduating senior attending an accredited 2 or 4 year program leading to a career in the home building industry. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Sara Elizabeth Stubblefield Scholarship

This scholarship is a 1 year $2,000 award, and will be given to a deserving student who meets the following criteria: has epilepsy and is under physician’s care for epilepsy, is a college-bound or a vocational technical school bound high school senior residing in Illinois, previous recipients currently enrolled and in good academic standing in an institution of higher education may also re-apply.
Mizzou Men of Achievment Scholarship Program

Pointe Pest Control Scholarship

This $750 one time scholarship will be awarded to any high school senior or college freshman from the state of Illinois. This scholarship is judged primarily on a need basis, but does not exclude achievement standards. Kaskaskia College Fine Arts Activity Scholarships

An activity scholarship consists of a waiver of tuition and activity fees for students who enroll in classes, full-time, at Kaskaskia College. Scholarships are available in the following activities: Art, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Scroll (Journalism), and Theatre. Applications can be picked up in student services.
James Littleford Memorial Scholarship

$1000 scholarship awarded to VHS senior who is enrolled in a University, College, or Accredited School in a program that will lead towards graduation. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Mike Marks Memorial Scholarship
Due May 1st
 
$200 will be paid directly to the student following successful completion of the first semester. To be eligible, the student must attend a post secondary school in agriculture or education and be a member of the F.F.A.
Taylor Wollerman Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for a student athlete obtaining a 3.0 GPA, and going to a 4 year institution. Applications can be picked up in student services.

TC4 Scholarship

This scholarship is for any low income senior looking to further their degree at any college. You will have to write a 100 word essay. Applications can be picked up in student services.
C.E.F.S. Income Eligible Scholarships
Due May 2nd
 
This scholarship is for students who are income-eligible according to guidelines established by the 2014 poverty guidelines, has proven performance capabilities, and is a resident of Fayette County. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Emerick Farms
Due May 5th
 
This scholarship is for seniors who are accepted into an accredited college and going into an agriculture-related field of study. Applications can be picked up in student services.
VHS Alumni Scholarship
Due May 1st
 
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a VHS senior that exhibits great character. Preference is given to students who have family members who are alumni of Vandalia High School. Applications can be picked up in student services.
CEFS Community Services Block Grant
Due May 15th
 
Financial assistance for an institution approved full-time post secondary course of study, leading to a career and/or employment at an Illinois institution. Student must be income-eligible according to guidelines established by the 2012 revision of poverty guidelines.
Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
Due May 15th
 
Two $500 scholarships are available for any senior going into a medical related field. Applications can be picked up at the front desk of the Fayette County Hospital.
Jameson Lockart Advancement Fund
Due May 15th
 
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a student who lives in Fayette County. The main objective is to financially help individuals obtain GED’s, Union Cards, or other types of career advancements that would aid struggling individuals to reach their full potential. Applications can be picked up in student services.
Region IV EMSC Scholarship
Due May 22nd
 
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a student who is going into the field of healthcare going into either a college, university or other medical institution. Applications can be picked up in student services.
The Christian Connector
Due May 31st
 
There are 4 different free drawings students going to a Christian College can apply for. One $2,500 and three $1,000 scholarships are available. Visit

Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship is available for seniors going to SIUE. The applicants will be reviewed on a basis of leadership, athletics, and community service. Applications can be picked up in student services.

Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship

The scholarship is limited to high school seniors in Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Texas and California pursuing a fashion related degree program at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Fashion related fields include, but are not limited to, the following programs: Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Marketing, Fashion Management, Fashion Retailing.

Arch City Granite

Arch City Granite cares about students success and wants to see them succeed in their post high school education without having to place a large financial burden on their families or themselves. We have come together and formed a scholarship for students in Missouri and Southern Illinois to help pay for their college expenses.
